This page introduces effective training videos that help you smoothly read sheet music, whether you’re a beginner or advanced musician.

  • Want to read music at sight?
  • Looking to improve your playing efficiency?
  • Want to deepen your understanding of music theory?

If so, make use of the YouTube videos introduced here to gradually improve your sight-reading skills. The videos start with the basics of treble and bass clefs and gradually increase in difficulty.

When you can read notes, your understanding of music will increase dramatically. It will also shorten the time it takes to be able to play a song, and since there are many opportunities to play at first sight, now is the perfect time to try reading music.

*The video uses “movable do.”

How to Use the Video

  1. The note(s) will be displayed in the first measure.
  2. The same note will be displayed in the next measure, with the pitch name on the top and the scale name on the bottom. This pattern will be repeated with different notes.
  3. First, try to remember the pitch names and scale names quickly.
  4. Once you can read the notes, try playing them on your instrument.
  5. Try muting the audio and playing the notes alone.

The pattern changes every 16 bars, for example bars 1-16 are C4-C5, bars 17-32 are C5-C6, bars 33-48 are C3-C4, and bars 49-64 are random.
